Current Favorites 3.5.20
/Hey y’all! I’m posting this week’s Current Favorites a day early in case, like me, you are wanting to take advantage of the Shopbop sale before items start selling out (items 10-15 in the collage). I’m including some other items I snagged last week at Target and a few tried and trues of mine from the ol Amazon. I hope you find a few new favorites!
(1) White Tiered Ruffle Midi Dress - This checks all the boxes for summertime in Texas: light weight, sleeveless, flowy, and can go day to night. Comes in some other pretty colors (love the light blush for Easter), but there’s something about a white dress for summer that just has me reaching for it over and over. The white is not see through making this way more than a beach cover up. Sneakers and a jean jacket now, a wedge and a fun earring for summer evenings. I did size down because Target dresses tend to run big in the arm opening on me. Looks way more expensive than $35!
(2) Striped Sleeveless Tiered Dress - I know it seems a little redundant to have two flowy tiered dresses on here, but I just can’t quit them! Coral is my go-to color when I have a tan and I have always loved a stripe. Another one of those dresses that I’ll grab for everything from church to showers to rehearsal dinners and more. I sized down on this one as well. Comes in some solid colors and other fun prints too. $30!
(3) Blue Gingham Melamine Plates - These had me at blue gingham. And then I realized they were melamine and less than $4 a pop and I raided the shelf. Would look darling on an Easter table or to use all spring and summer for every day dishes. Also comes in pink!
(4) Easter Egg Wreath - I try to not be too overtly holiday-ish with my decor, but with kids I tend to bend those rules a bit. Deacon gets WAY into holidays so I like to add a little flair around the house. For a rainbow egg wreath, it’s surprisingly simple? Ha! I mean no glitter or creepy bunny face. Very tasteful color palette. I might hang ours on the fireplace vs the font door since it goes with the blue tones in my living room.
(5) & (6) Bunny Jammies (baby girl, two-piece girl, baby boy, two-piece boy) - I like holiday jammies that read a little more seasonal than they do holiday. So while these have bunnies on them, they don’t scream Easter to me and we can wear them for…well, until I pull out the Christmas jammies. Love the ruffle bottom on the baby one-piece version. Super soft and wash well. The two piece ones go up to size 10! Stay tuned for matching Deac and Em pics. $30
(7) Light Color Headbands - Headbands are saving my life right now since I’m in the horns stage of postpartum hair re-growth. I got a ton of use out of these animal print ones this fall and winter but needed something lighter for spring and summer. This pack is great - good soft colors, not too much of a pattern that it’ll compete with your outfit, and not too puffy or wide. Three headbands for less than $15….add to cart.
(8) Continuous Mister Spray Bottle - SO RANDOM! But life changing for us. I spray Deacon’s hair each morning (and now Emilia’s if she’s got food in it, which is always) and he HATED the spray bottle. This is more of a mist and a lot more water comes out at once so you can do less squirts. It’s magic and makes combing kids hair much less tormenting. If you have kids with tangly hair, put a drop of leave in conditioner in with the water. It gets bonus points for not being ugly or a primary color.
(9) Wooden Vanity Kit - We have a few birthday parties coming up and I ordered these as gifts. Love that they’re simple wooden toys, no bells or whistles. Always a win, too, to find a toy that comes with it’s own storage container (in this case the makeup bag). Buy now, throw it in the random spot in your house where you store gifts and worry less the day before the party.
(10) Gingham Tiered Dress - On to the Shopbop sale! I ordered a few things, but not nearly as much as I wanted. I could have raided my bank account for this sale, it’s scary. I did snag this dress and am so happy I did. A weird quirk about me - I like wearing high neck silhouettes like this when I have my hair in a ponytail. And I have my hair in a ponytail a lot. I also love this longer color block version by the same brand, but based on 1 and 2 of this collage, you know I already have quite a few long dresses for this summer. A great lower-priced find on the site at $65 and can be worn daytime or dressed up for church, showers, etc. {Use code SPRING at check out to save 15% - 25% off}
(11) AGolde Dee Super High Rise Jean Shorts - I kicked myself all last summer for not getting a pair of AGolde shorts. I, quite honestly, thought spending $125 on jorts was nuts, but every time I would see people in flattering shorts they’d end up being these. Well, actually the pair all my friends had were this style, but it was sold out in my size. Knowing how passionately I feel about a high waist, I thought I’d try the high rise. Free returns so why not? I’ll let y’all know what I think. {Use code SPRING at check out to save 15% - 25% off}
(12) Madewell Floral One-Piece Swimsuit - Please excuse me while I get on my soap box… WHY ARE SO MANY ONE PIECES MADE TO SHOW HALF OR MORE THAN HALF OF ONE’S BUTT CHEEKS? I HAVE CHILDREN. I SWIM WITH MY CHILDREN. NO ONE NEEDS TO SEE THAT… Thankfully, I found a swimsuit safe for moms (or any woman opposed to butt cheek exposure) to wear around children and well really, any human being. Good cheek coverage, comes up high enough (I see you toddler hanging on my suit seconds away from a boob slip), and also in a super flattering color and print. Love the tie at the back for extra adjustment. Also, it’s one of the rare swimsuits that isn’t $300, but that’s a soap box for another day. $78 {Use code SPRING at check out to save 15% - 25% off} UPDATE: I checked this this morning and it’s sold out in most sizes now. Rats. It’s still avail here on the Madewell site (just not on sale).
(13) Smocked Puff Sleeve Top - Obsessed with this top. With jean shorts, white jeans, or a silk or pleated skirt. Also comes in pink. It’s such a simple take on some of this spring’s trends (puff sleeves and smocking) and at a decent price point…especially for Shopbop. {Use code SPRING at check out to save 15% - 25% off}
(14) AGolde Parker Vintage White Jean Short - Like I mentioned up in number 11, I have been lusting after these shorts since last summer. I didn’t even know they came in white until my friend dropped her denim and white pairs off on my porch for me to try on for sizing before I ordered (Thanks Mere!). And ya’ll, they’re even better than I thought! Loose but not too loose, long enough to be mom-appropriate, and not see through at all. I ordered my true size and cannot wait for them to arrive. I plan on wearing these several times a week so the cost per wear is really not too crazy. {Use code SPRING at check out to save 15% - 25% off}
(15) 9Seed Rickrack Trim Long Sleeve Cover Up - At the top of my lust list is this rickrack cover up. No, I did not order this because I don’t even know what I would do with a $400 swim suit cover up (actually, I know what I would do, it would end up covered in ketchup and wrinkled at the bottom of my pool bag). But, gosh look at her. She’s a beaut. So is her sleeveless, shorter (and a little less expensive) sister. {Use code SPRING at check out to save 15% - 25% off}
What a week! What great finds! I don’t know about you, but these make me SO excited for warmer weather. Now if we could just get past this Coronavirus thing, otherwise we are all going to be sitting around in our tiered maxi dresses alone in our houses. Have a wonderful rest of your week and weekend! I'll be working all weekend on some exciting new updates to the website that I think will make it even easier for you to shop my favorites. Two weeks in and already making upgrades. Stay tuned!
