mother's day gift guide

Mother’s Day is only three weeks away! (Seriously though, anyone else feel like this year is flying?!). Time to place your orders and make sure mom feels the love. Rounding up 18 items below all under $150 (one splurge at the end) that she’ll be sure to love. Make sure to read each description too because there’s a couple other similar ideas tucked in those as well. One thing is for sure, it’s always a good idea to spoil mom.

.) White Dutch Oven - A good and affordable dutch oven is hard to come by. Let alone one that is pretty. But, alas, I have found the one. The shape of this one is perfect for braising large pieces of meat and the matte white finish and copper top handle will look beautiful kept on top of the stove. $155

.) Bamboo Wicker Bag - I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect wicker bag - one that holds enough, can be worn with dressier looks (like for a wedding), but also one that could be used for day-dates or travel. And here she is! The cross body strap is removable making it the most darling little mini-satchel for events for dates. Add the strap and wear site seeing or at a wine tasting or whatever your fun post-vaccine plans may be. BONUS it’s monogrammable! Also comes in navy. $169 (other contenders: this one and this one)

.) Initial Paperclip Necklace - “Paperclip” style necklaces are all the rage right now, and I especially love the delicate little diamond initial dangling on this one. You could use your mom’s initial or the initial if a child. So sweet and perfect for layering. A “cool mom” will certainly love. $55 (p.s. this is the initial necklace I wear daily)

.) Potted (real!) Philodendron Plant - My sister got me a plant from this company as a housewarming gift and it is so beautiful (and still alive thank you very much). This size is perfect for a bookshelf or console table and the pot itself isn’t an eyesore which is a huge win. They have tons of sizes and plants available (I have this snake plant), but the philodendron are super easy to care for in my opinion. $65-$150 depending on size/variety.

.) Ruffle Ceramic Bowl - I have always coveted these style of bowls. They just look so elegant. I, personally, have a Susan Gordon Pottery piece, but her drops sell out so quickly, I wanted to find one for y’all that should be in stock right now. These bowls are so multifunctional - part sculpture, part bowl, they look classic topping a stack of books on a bookshelf or table. Or use on an entry table to corral keys and sunglasses. Or on a coffee table and fill with matches. Or on a bar filled with corks from special bottles of wine. The uses are endless and this price is pretty stellar (i’ve seen some go for as high as $600!). $130

.) Rattan Candle Sticks - If your mom is in to setting a table or hosting dinner parties than she will love these gorgeous rattan candlesticks. They match these napkin rings which I adore. Two of these with a pretty flower arrangement in the middle and she will be set for all her spring and summer entertaining! $68 each

.) Gold Bamboo Hoops - Lately I am finding my earring choices to be decidedly more simple than of spring and summers past. I keep reaching for my same gold hoops which is why I felt it was time to add an additional pair to my repertoire. I LOVE the delicate bamboo shape of these and the size is perfect - big enough to be a statement, but small enough that you can still wear simple necklaces or bracelets with them. Truly, I just love them so much. I bought a few pairs to keep on hands for gifts since it’s a pretty good price point. (If mom’s not a hoop gal, may I suggest these darling woven earrings with bows?!) $65

.) Printed Yoga Mat - This brand just launched a line of kid and adult yoga mats with the cutest prints. I am obsessed. Granted I typically do yoga on the living room floor and then don’t put my mat away for a few days, it will at least blend in with my decor now. One of those great gifts that you would probably not buy for yourself that someone would love to receive. $92

.) Striped Pima Cotton Robe - I have this robe and love it so much. First of all it’s light weight, so if you run hot or get hot while getting ready this won’t make you hotter. Secondly, I love that its so thin that the collar doesn’t put a dent in your hair if it’s wet and you have it on (does that make ANY sense?). Thirdly, I love its silhouette. As a self-proclaimed robe connesieur (I have five on rotation), this one is so beautiful made. It drapes well, the ties at the waist are at a flattering place. Great for layering over a nightgown too! And finally, it’s light weight enough that it’s easily packable for trips (I always take a robe on trips bc if i’m wearing skimpier jammies or if the hotel is cold etc.). Oh and I almost forgot it’s sooooo soft. My kids love to snuggle it. Comes in a ton of beautiful prints, but I’m always a sucker for a good blue and white stripe. I ordered my true size, but if you’re between sizes I say size up. $126

.)Wooden Bath Tray - Anytime I post my bath caddy shelf thingamabob (technical term) I get questions about it. Mine is from some dusty homegoods shelf, but the one I found is almost identical. Gift this plus a bottle of chill pill bath bombs (number 18 on my collage) and maybe a small candle you’ve got such a good gift for mom! The tray adjusts to fit most bathtub widths and has a flip up easel for books or magazines, a cupholder for wine, and trust when I say you can easily fit chips and salsa on the shelf too. $32

.) Gingham Apron (Women’s) (Girls) - I have always loved baking with my kids and these matching mommy and me aprons are just too sweet. Would be so lovely for a grandma too! You could gift these with some nice baking mixes and cute utensils and a mom or grandma would surely be thrilled. $18 / $16

.) Scalloped Bone Frame - Nine times out of ten when I ask my mom or mother in law what they want for Mother’s Day they say a framed picture of the kids. We just took bluebonnet photos with the incredible Caroline Guinn Photography and I can’t wait to frame some and give as gifts. This frame is SO affordable and SO beautiful. A simple and treasured gift. $34

.) Blue Acrylic Tumbler - Most of our entertaining guests these days is done with kids present. And, well, to be honest most of our wine dinking is done with kids also running around. More that 50% of the time a glass gets knocked over while on the deck or out on the front porch or gosh even just sitting at the dinner table. Which is why we very rarely use glass anymore. I am in love with these blue tumblers that are…wait for it…acrylic! Dishwasher and freezer safe. They’d look gorgeous on a summer table scape and are safe enough to have while chasing kiddos around the yard. $12 each

.) Adidas Slides - In warmer months I tend to not wear slippers around the house, but my Adidas slides instead. I don’t know if it’s the throwback vibes of these or the fact they are comfortable as all get out, but I just adore these. The pretty powder blue (also available in a soft sage green) are chic and can work for the beach or pool, or just running from your toddler as they hold the garden hose. $24

.) Monogram Bolster Pillow - The quickest way to change the feel of a bed or sofa is to switch up the pillows. I adore this monogram appliqué pillow perfect for dressing a bed. This shop makes all kinds and sizes of pillows (like this!), but I think if your mom has a plain old bed she would be wowed to receive this gorgeous pillow. Choose from tons of colors and fonts. Again, another gift that I personally would love, but probably wouldn’t spring for on my own. $150

.) Blue Embroidered Dress - I adore an embroidered dress and wear them a ton all summer long. They are comfortable and can be dressed up or down, worn with sneakers or wedges, and are just the best. I am obsessed with this tiered style with short sleeves that any mom would love to receive. (If mom wants a longer length, this or this is are beautiful options.) A lot of times these dresses can run $300+, but this one is only $114.

.) Cane Woven Hurricane - This is hands down my most used vase in my home. It’s the perfect height and width to stand alone or be layered among other vases on a table setting. The cane wrapping is so well done and looks expensive. You can also use it as a hurricane with a candle inside, but I highly recommend a bouquet of peonies instead. $60

.) Chill Pill Bath Bombs - I am obsessed with this brand of bath products. I first started using their coconut milk soak, but these chill pill bath bombs are both funny and effective. They have jojoba oil and a few other natural ingredients guaranteed to make your skin super soft all while relaxing in the tub (great gift to give with the bathtub tray in number ten up there!) $30

.) Breakfast in Bed Tray - So this one is the only one on the list that’s over $150, but I had to included because breakfast in bed is just such a Mother’s Day tradition for many families and how insanely gorgeous is this tray?! This is such a great gift for the luxe mom who seems to have it all - I bet she doesn’t have a chic woven breakfast in bed tray! (if this is out of your price point, this breakfast in bed tray is lovely too and under $100 or you could always use this woven tray and place it on her lap.) $340
